In memory of our dear Veo who will always hold a place in our hearts – she had such a sense of humour, never outgrowing her love of a game of “chase” round the dining table. I will always remember Veo looking so beautiful as she played with her pups. Veo spent her first months in the company of Katie and Tilly - Katie who was the guardian of the dogs who followed her into the family and took such good care of them. We like to think that she is reunited with her old friends.

We never knew your date of birth because you were a rescue
We always thought you were put on earth for both of us to love you
You were so loyal and tried to please and stayed around us daily
You mothered all our other dogs from Cyril down to Bailey
Everybody loved you so everywhere we took you
From Championship to open shows we never had to book you
But then one day you felt unwell and we noticed that you'd changed
We took you to the local vet your welfare to arrange
They only gave us awful news that your complaint was bad
And some day soon we had to lose our companion, we were sad
Although you never suffered much to see you was heartbreaking
For you were getting old as such your body parts were aching
A big decision we both made to have you put to sleep
Your look had told us what to do an appointment you had to keep
You'd lived a happy carefree life for nearly sixteen years
Although we're sad to see you go you'll never see our tears
For tears of joy are what we weep for having you so long
We don't regret a single week the memory makes us strong
We remember all the happy times when you were well and bold
Running around the open fields and playing in the cold
With both ears sticking up so high and tail wagging to and fro
Playing with all your many friends I know they'll miss you so
Now you run in doggy heaven with all that passed before
You're young again and we're forgiven we couldn't have loved you more

Rocky in May 2001

Today we have had to say goodbye to our lovely boy Rocky. He lived fourteen happy and very healthy years. A great ambassador for the breed and an excellent stud dog. We have his 2 1/2 year old daughter at home, so he lives on in her. Rocky always enjoyed good health but, in the end, old age caught up with him. He enjoyed life, the girls and food until the end. A few days ago his legs finally gave up on him and he couldn't get up, his dignity was gone. This once proud and independant dog was ready to join his old friends in the shade of the hazelnut tree. Rocky: You will always be remembered and have a place in our heart. Memories never fade
