Diamond Celebration
A CELEBRATORY WEEK-END
5th - 7th August 2011
Hot off the press - 5th - 7th August 2011 is the weekend
to put in your diaries; confirmation has finally been received from the
Kennel Club. With ‘a reception’ on the Friday, Championship
Show on Saturday and Fun Day on Sunday - the NoEKC committee hopes to
cater for everyone & invite Keeshonden & their owners everywhere
to come & help us celebrate our 75th Anniversary. Please pass the
word around!
Fund raising for the weekend is slowly gaining speed. Although the Club
hasn’t set a target, we have a long way to go before we have sufficient
funds to make the weekend the truly memorable event that we have planned.
We are trying to make some of our fund raising efforts appeal to ‘non
doggy & non showing’ people’ as the committee are mindful
of the fact that we are a numerically small breed and that there is only
a limited amount of money available from members.
We have many events and activities planned and hope to welcome Keeshond
folk from far and wide. The climax to the whole event will obviously be
our Championship Show. The north of England has excellent sea and air
links to continental Europe and regular trans-Atlantic flights into Manchester.
We extend a traditional northern welcome
to all to join us in a celebration of our wonderful breed.
Less than half a mile outside of Wetherby, North Yorkshire, Grange Park
offers us the ideal venue.
A beautiful setting with fantastic views, dog-friendly grounds and easy
access to the A1(M) and all that this picturesque county has to offer.
25 caravan pitches are available on site on a first come first served
basis, BOOKABLE DIRECT WITH US in advance.
There are a number of hotels and quality Bed & Breakfast establishments
in the area; hopefully, we will be able to negotiate some discounted rates
- so watch this space.

Ample car parking is available on the show site and of course, anyone wishing to avail themselves of a tipple or three can do so at the well furnished and welcoming clubhouse. We can't believe our luck in securing this venue, so mark the diary for 2011 - you won't be disappointed; that's guaranteed.
